Is WordPress good for SEO?
WordPress can be excellent for SEO - but only if it's set up correctly. Out of the box, WordPress has a number of technical SEO issues: duplicate content from category and tag archives, bloated code from unnecessary plugins, poor default permalink structures, and often slow load times. With proper configuration and optimisation, WordPress is a highly capable SEO platform.
Which SEO plugin do you recommend for WordPress?
Both Yoast SEO and Rank Math are solid choices. Rank Math has more features available for free and is generally my preference for new builds. For existing sites already using Yoast, switching isn't always necessary - the plugin matters far less than how it's configured. I'll work with whatever you have in place.
My WordPress site is slow - will that affect my SEO?
Yes, significantly. Page speed is a direct Google ranking factor, and Core Web Vitals are now part of Google's page experience signals. A slow WordPress site will typically be outranked by faster competitors all else being equal. I can audit and improve your site speed as part of a wider SEO campaign.
Do you work with custom WordPress themes?
Yes. I work with all WordPress themes - standard themes, premium themes like Divi or Avada, and fully custom-built themes. If your theme is generating SEO issues (common with page builders), I'll identify them and provide solutions.
